When fully expanded, the 3,000 m² charging park is planned to comprise a total of 50 charging points, 38 of which will initially be equipped with ultra-fast charging stations with a charging capacity of up to 400 kW. It will open with 40 charging points active.

The parking spaces are leased to the operators EVN, Ionity and Tesla. The charging hub also offers opportunities for drivers to recharge more than just their car batteries, as the site is surrounded by a range of amenities, as Harald Stressler, authorised signatory at Ladewerke Amstetten, describes: “To make the e-charging park a pleasant place for everyone, there is a lounge area with catering facilities, toilet facilities, green spaces with a play area for children and a separate dog walking area. Our goal is for everyone to find what they need here for their journey or their next stopover.”

He further explained that the charging park is to act as a pilot project for future installations in Austria: “At Oiden, we evaluate ongoing operations and can derive suitable measures for possible expansion or additional locations.”

While no exact time plan was provided regarding the expansion, the official opening ceremony for the charging park will be celebrated during the European Mobility Week on 19 September.
