Plans by the CATL and Stellantis joint venture to deploy 2,000 Chinese workers at its Spanish factory have created a standoff with authorities concerned over local job creation. Production is set to kick off at the €4.1bn (US$4.76bn) Zaragoza plant by late 2026, but progress has slowed as stakeholders attempt to resolve employment tensions.
