Chinese automaker exhibits Avatr luxury SUV and Changan Deepal models as part of Thailand expansion strategy through December
Changan Automobile has unveiled its new energy vehicle lineup at the Thailand International Motor Expo 2025, showcasing models from its Avatr and Changan Deepal brands. The Chinese automaker is exhibiting at Impact Challenger Hall in Muang Thong Thani from 29 November to 10 December as part of its expansion strategy in the Thai market.
Avatr debuted the Avatr 07 luxury SUV, which features a 3.9-second 0-100 km/h acceleration time and adaptive air suspension. The model has received the IDA International Design Gold Award and the 2025 German iF Design Award, with design led by Avatr’s European team.
Changan Deepal continued its market presence with the S05, the company’s first Thailand-manufactured model, which launched in March 2025 and ranked first in EV SUV registrations for two consecutive months. The automaker introduced the S05 Max Long Range variant, featuring a 68.82 kWh battery with 560 km range under NEDC testing and a 200 kW motor delivering 0-100 km/h acceleration in 6.48 seconds.
Changan inaugurated its first overseas new energy vehicle plant in Rayong in May 2025, employing over 1,000 Thai workers with approximately 60% local content. The company plans to launch seven models in Thailand over the next three years and introduce more than 50 new energy vehicles globally within five years.
