E-commerce is transforming the automotive aftermarket—but it’s not a zero-sum game. According to Ariel Loza, e-commerce fulfillment manager at Wheeler Fleet Solutions, the industry’s greatest strength in this shift may be its culture of collaboration.

On the debut episode of Business Casual, a new aftermarketNews podcast, Loza explained how innovation and partnership work together to reshape aftermarket e-commerce. He believes the industry’s cooperative mindset will continue to drive progress.

E-commerce Thrives When the Aftermarket Works Together

Many industries treat e-commerce as a race. In the aftermarket, it’s a team effort. “We’re not all out to compete with each other,” said Loza. “There’s enough space for all of us to grow—and we haven’t even hit our full potential.”

Warehouse distributors regularly collaborate to meet customer demand. If one WD can’t fulfill an order, another may step in to help. That flexibility makes service more reliable.

“The customer is always at the center of the decision,” said Loza. “Profit doesn’t come before performance. That’s what makes this industry unique.”

    Innovation Rewards Risk-Takers and Problem-Solvers

E-commerce in the aftermarket isn’t just about moving transactions online. It’s about finding better ways to deliver value.

Distributors are applying data, digital platforms and modern logistics to serve specific markets—whether fleets, retailers or performance customers. “We’re still just scratching the surface of what’s possible,” said Loza. “Creativity wins.”

He encourages leaders to test new tools often. That might include upgrading user experiences, improving product availability or syncing operations with trusted partners.

The Road Ahead for Aftermarket E-Commerce

Loza sees a long growth runway for e-commerce in the automotive aftermarket. He believes the industry’s cooperative approach will remain a key advantage.

“We’re building something bigger than just our own businesses,” he said. “Together, we’re creating a stronger, more responsive supply chain.”

The combination of collaboration and innovation sets the aftermarket apart. As digital tools expand, the industry’s people-first, partnership-driven mindset will continue to shape how parts get delivered—faster and smarter.
