Continental intends to streamline ContiTech further ahead of its planned sale in 2026, though it hasn’t confirmed how many jobs will go. By Will Girling
Auto supplier Continental aims to achieve €150m (US$173m) in annual cost savings from 2028, which will be cut from its material solutions division ContiTech. The company warned in a 24 November press release that layoffs in Germany will follow but didn’t specify how many—though a works council source informed Reuters that the measures could target up to 1,500 jobs.
