As you know, the diesel lineup is limited. Emissions regulations, past scandals, stricter fuel-economy standards, and declining consumer demand have continued to shrink the diesel vehicle market in the United States. As a result, there are only a handful of new diesel vehicles you can buy in model-year 2026, and they come from just five manufacturers: Ford, Chevrolet, GMC, Ram, and Mercedes-Benz. Even more telling, every diesel vehicle still on sale is a truck, SUV, or van—mostly heavy-duty models. As of 2026, no new diesel-powered passenger cars are available in the U.S. market. With that in mind, here’s the complete list of diesel trucks, SUVs, and vans you can still buy. And being Diesel Army, we suggest you do.

    2026 Ford Super Duty

Ford continues to offer its Power Stroke diesel across the F-250, F-350, and F-450 Super Duty lineup. The 6.7-liter V8 turbodiesel is available in Standard Output and High Output versions, producing 475 hp and 1,050 lb-ft of torque or 500 hp and 1,200 lb-ft of torque, respectively. Both are paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission. Gasoline engines generally remain standard, while the High Output diesel adds $12,995 to the price.

2026 Chevrolet Silverado HD / 2026 GMC Sierra HD

Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD models, along with GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD trucks, once again offer the 6.6-liter L5P Duramax V8 turbodiesel. Output is unchanged at 470 hp at 2,800 rpm and 975 lb-ft of torque at 1,600 rpm, paired with a ten-speed Allison automatic transmission. While it trails some competitors in peak torque, the Duramax remains well-regarded for everyday drivability. Expect roughly a $10,000 upcharge.

    2026 Ram Heavy Duty

Ram carries over the 6.7-liter inline-six Cummins High Output turbodiesel in its 2500 and 3500 trucks. It produces 430 hp and 1,075 lb-ft of torque and is paired with an eight-speed TorqueFlite HD automatic transmission. The Cummins HO remains the only diesel option, adding approximately $12,595 over the standard gasoline Hemi V8.

    2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 / 2026 GMC Sierra 1500

GM remains the only automaker offering a diesel in a half-ton pickup. The Chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 continue to feature the 3.0-liter LZ0 inline-six Duramax, producing 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque, paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission. The diesel is standard on select trims and costs roughly $1,500 on others.

    2026 Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban and GMC Yukon/Yukon XL

GM’s full-size SUVs also retain the 3.0-liter Duramax diesel with unchanged output. Availability varies by trim, with Chevrolet limiting access on lower trims and GMC offering broader availability, including standard fitment on AT4 Ultimate and Denali Ultimate models.

    2026 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van

The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter lineup continues with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel offered in Standard Output (168 hp, 295 lb-ft) and High Output (208 hp, 332 lb-ft) versions. Both are paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel-drive models receive the High Output engine as standard.

    A Year Of Carryover

For 2026, the diesel vehicle landscape remains largely unchanged from the previous year. No new diesel models have been introduced, and none have been discontinued. Powertrain specifications carry over across the board. Although diesel buyers still have solid options for towing, hauling, and commercial use, the segment remains narrowly focused, with little indication of widespread growth in the near future.
