Establishing a foothold as a new player in the world of vehicle manufacturing is not a task for the faint-hearted; certainly, it needs patience, major financial resources and a long-term vision. Foxconn, the public name for the Hon Tai Technology Group in Taiwan, has the first two, but its plan for entering the automotive manufacturing sector has evolved as time has gone on.
