New name, same reliability.
General Motors has changed the name of its commercial business from GM Envolve to GM Fleet, the company revealed via a social media post on April 14. According to the post, the move is aimed at improving clarity and customer recognition.
“When we rebranded to GM Envolve, the concept was a one-stop customer experience, designed to make it easier for customers to tap into multiple products and services GM offers. With this rebrand, that doesn’t change,” Katie Minter, GM brand and product communications lead, told Automotive Fleet.
Minter underscored that while this is a name change for GM, there is no shift in the company’s focus or strategy, noting that the “GM Fleet name aligns to how customers identify us and it also helps with discoverability.”
GM Evolves from GM Envolve
Traditionally known as GM Fleet & Commercial, the GM Envolve branding was introduced in 2023, with the name reflecting the company’s goal of evolving alongside customers and highlighting its electric-vehicle portfolio and services.
Since then, the market has reverted to a more powertrain-agnostic approach, with a renewed focus on gas, diesel, and hybrid technologies and a more incremental approach to electrification.
