Hunter Engineering has launched the Maverick Pro tire changer, an updated version of the company’s Maverick model that the company says adds new ergonomic and visibility features.
Maverick Pro Tire Changer Adds Ergonomic Lift
The updated model features a pick-and-place wheel lift capable of handling heavy assemblies, including 19.5s, weighing up to 175 pounds in one motion. The lift tilts and maintains its position while elevated, then lowers automatically. Hunter said this design reduces repetitive movements and back strain for technicians.
An under-wheel light enhances visibility during the mount and demount process. It illuminates the lower roller and bottom bead, activating automatically with a customizable timer for shut-off. This addition makes bottom bead breaking and lubrication easier, even in low-light conditions, Hunter said.
Additional features include a leverless head, automatic tools-clear functionality, and the InflationStation, which fills tires to the desired pressure automatically.
Listening to Customers
“The Maverick Pro is a great example of how listening to the customer leads to better products that make wheel service easier,” said Jim Hudson, Hunter product manager for tire changers. “Technicians have loved the Maverick since its release. The ergonomic lift and under-wheel light make tire changing safer, faster and easier for everyone.”
