Husqvarna Extends Premium Manufacturer’s Warranty, Surviving the KTM Saga

Husqvarna Extends Premium Manufacturer’s Warranty, Surviving the KTM Saga

KTM has been through the wringer the past few years. From dodgy camshafts to financial ruin, the brand, now owned by Bajaj, is on a journey to rebuild consumer confidence and its stature as a pillar of the motorcycle industry. But all the brands under the KTM AG blanket, or Babaj Mobility AG to be precise, need to work to keep their reputations for producing reliable motorcycles and, well, sell old stock. Now, Husqvarna is taking action.

Husqvarna Mobility has announced a significant enhancement to its Premium Manufacturer’s Warranty program, which now includes all street-legal motorcycles from Model Year 2025 onwards. So if you buy new Husqvarna stock from 2025, it’ll still come with a 4-year warranty. Combine this with the fact that old stock will likely be heavily discounted, and I’d wager we’ll see a lot more Husqvarnas on the street soon.

Previously, only a small selection of Husqvarna motorcycles had the Premium Manufacturer’s Warranty, including the Norden 901, Norden 901 Expedition, Svartpilen 801, and Vitpilen 801. In other words, only models using the LC8c powerplant. Now, the warranty applies to all of the brand’s street bikes, including the 701 Enduro, 701 Supermoto, and all the way down to the smallest Svartpilen 125 and Vitpilen 125.

The new warranty won’t just help shift old products. The fact that a 4-year warranty now applies to even the brand’s most entry-level machines, which are produced in India as opposed to Austria, should help to restore consumer confidence. I mean, even if it breaks, you’ve got a 4-year warranty, which is almost as much as you’ll ever get in the motorcycle industry.

The best part of the updated warranty is that it applies to vehicles that have previously been sold or registered from model year 2025 and is transferable to the next owner. But to maintain the full warranty duration, all scheduled services must be carried out by an authorised Husqvarna Mobility dealership in accordance with the official service schedule designated for each machine. So, how much more likely are you to pick up a discounted 2025 Husqvarna given this updated warranty news?
