Toronto, Ontario — The Center for Automotive Research has appointed Elizabeth Krear as its new president and chief executive officer.

Most recently, Krear served as vice-president of the electric vehicle practice at J.D. Power, where she led the use of data insights to help clients transition to electrified vehicle portfolios. She also previously worked at Stellantis as vice-president and global planning program director for the Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer and other electrified SUVs and trucks.

Earlier in her career, Krear was chief engineer for the Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Gladiator and the Ram 1500 light-duty truck portfolio. She has  held leadership roles in vehicle quality, program management, manufacturing, powertrain synthesis and interior engineering.

She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from Wayne State University, as well as an executive masters in business administration from the Michigan State University Executive MBA program.

In a statement, CAR describes her appointment as “a bold new chapter” for the organization.
