Mahindra has unveiled the XEV 9S, a seven-seater electric SUV built on the company’s INGLO platform, with prices starting at Rs1.99m. Bookings for India’s first electric-origin seven-seater SUV open on 14 January 2026, with customer deliveries commencing on 23 January 2026.
The vehicle offers cabin space of 4,076 litres for the first and second rows, boot space of up to 527 litres and front trunk space of 150 litres. The XEV 9S is available with 59kWh, 70kWh and 79kWh lithium iron phosphate battery packs, delivering a real-world range of 500km on the largest battery configuration.
The 79kWh variant produces 210kW of power and 380Nm of torque, achieving acceleration from zero to 100km/h in seven seconds and a top speed of 202km/h. The model features adaptive suspension with independent front and rear configurations, brake-by-wire technology and variable gear ratio power steering with a turning circle diameter of 10 metres.
Safety equipment includes seven airbags, level two-plus advanced driver assistance systems with five radars and one vision camera, driver drowsiness detection with occupant monitoring, and a 360-degree camera system. The interior features three 31.24cm screens, 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio with Dolby Atmos, 5G connectivity and augmented reality head-up display on higher trims.
