Taiwan becomes first overseas market for heavy-duty truck that launched in Japan in 2023, with pre-orders exceeding 100 units
Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation has launched its new Super Great heavy-duty truck in Taiwan, marking the model’s first overseas market since its Japanese debut. The truckmaker said pre-orders had exceeded 100 units as of November 2025, with vehicles to be exported from its Kawasaki plant in Japan.
The new Super Great represents the first full model change in six years and was unveiled at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show before launching in the Japanese market. Mitsubishi Fuso said it selected Taiwan as the first export destination due to high transportation demand in the region, adding that it has maintained a presence in the market for six decades.
The truck features several advanced safety systems including Active Brake Assist 6, which uses a forward-facing camera and millimetre-wave radar to detect collision risks with vehicles or pedestrians. Active Side Guard Assist 2.0 provides warnings when turning or changing lanes by detecting vehicles, pedestrians or cyclists in adjacent areas. A Front Blind Spot Information System alerts drivers to pedestrians or bicycles approaching at low speeds.
The model also offers Truckonnect, Mitsubishi Fuso’s telematics service that provides real-time vehicle information via the internet.
