Mopar’s New Street Machine Concepts in Detail
First is The Dude, a concept that digs deep into the Mopar archives. This isn’t just a lowered Ram 1500; it’s a full-on tribute to the rare 1970s Dude sport package. The look is impossible to miss: a slammed stance over 22-inch satin black wheels, all wrapped in a coat of eye-searing Sublime Green paint. The classic satin black C-stripes and a custom performance hood complete the vintage vibe. But Mopar knows a Dude has to have muscle, so this concept packs the 5.7-liter HEMI V8, fed by a new Mopar cold-air intake that lets it breathe.
The Future of Muscle: The Sixpack Charger
Lined up next to it is the Moparized Dodge Sixpack Charger concept, a car that screams its intentions in Stryker Purple. This is Mopar’s statement piece for the new Charger platform. The Sixpack name is a nod to the new 550-horsepower 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six engine, and Mopar’s team has already been busy. They’ve bolted on a new cold-air intake and a throaty cat-back exhaust. The car sits an inch lower on a Mopar performance suspension, and its lightweight carbon-fiber hood, splitter, and decklid spoiler are pure function. The weirdest and most wonderful new product is the “Ugly Sweater” trail armor for the Jeep Wrangler. Made by MEK Magnet, it’s a removable, protective body panel that lets Jeep owners wrap their rig in a festive, tacky holiday print without damaging the paint. It’s a fun, quirky addition to a booth that also includes hundreds of parts and an autograph session with NHRA stars Tony Stewart, Matt Hagan, and Leah Pruett.
