Nexperia has suspended wafer supplies to its China facility after the local unit refused payments and can no longer guarantee chip quality. By Stewart Burnett
A payment dispute has forced Nexperia to suspend wafer shipments to its Chinese assembly plant, with the chipmaker warning it can no longer guarantee the authenticity or quality of products manufactured there since 13 October. The Dutch company, currently embroiled in a dispute between the Dutch government and its Chinese parent company, Wingtech, stated on 5 November that its Chinese entities have stopped operating within the established corporate governance framework and are ignoring instructions from global management.
