Nissan offers buyers access to smart-charging subscription providing annual rewards worth over £170 through partnership with Pod

Nissan has partnered with charging provider Pod to offer discounted home charging installations for electric vehicle customers in the UK. The collaboration provides Nissan buyers with access to Pod Drive, a smart-charging subscription service, with installation fees reduced from £99 to £49 for a Pod Point Solo 3S charger.

Pod Drive automatically charges vehicles when low-cost electricity is available and provides cash rewards for smart-charging usage. Customers driving 7,500 miles annually using smart-charged energy receive £172.50 in annual rewards, reducing home charging costs. The service includes a 48-hour repair or replacement guarantee and round-the-clock customer support.

Customers can set required charging completion times and override the automated system when immediate charging is needed outside regular schedules. The offer is available at point of sale for purchasers of Nissan’s Leaf, Micra, Ariya and other electric models.

“At Nissan, we know a reliable, convenient, cost-effective home charging solution makes a huge positive difference to the EV ownership experience,” James Taylor, Managing Director of Nissan GB, said. “Pod Drive delivers exactly that, and now it’s even more affordable.”

“Nissan has been spearheading the EV transition from the very beginning and it’s clear they show no signs of stopping,” Debbie Foley, Chief Revenue Officer at Pod, added.
