Recharge has equipped its entire network of over 2,500 fast-chargers across Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark with card payment terminals. The company says it is the first major charging operator in the Nordics to provide card payments on all fast-chargers, simplifying access for drivers.

“Charging should be easy, whether you drive an electric car every day or are just on your way to a long summer trip,” said David Lincoln Blom, Communications and Marketing Director at Recharge.

At the same time, Recharge is launching two new app-based subscriptions designed to reduce charging costs depending on usage. The Recharge Flow plan is aimed at spontaneous users, priced at 5.99 NOK/kWh with no monthly fee. The Recharge Move plan targets frequent chargers, offering a lower rate of 4.79 NOK/kWh with a monthly fee of 69 NOK. That translates to about 50 euro cents without a subscription and 40 euro cents with a subscription fee of roughly 5.80 euros.

The company emphasises that the card terminals will benefit holidaymakers, first-time EV users, and visitors who prefer to tap their card rather than use an app or create an account. “With both card payment and flexible subscriptions, we make charging with Recharge even easier,” added Blom.

Recharge states that these initiatives are part of its long-term efforts to deliver a flexible, user-friendly, and accessible charging experience throughout the Nordic region. The company had started to equip its EV charging stations with card payment terminals in 2023, already claiming then that it would be the first major operator in the Nordics to do so. Since April of last year, operators in the EU are also required to offer ad hoc payment options at the DC charger under the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR).
