Schumacher Electric Corp. is expanding its product lineup with the introduction of the RUGGED BY SCHUMACHER battery charger and maintainer series. The new line, which includes models SC1677, SC1678, SC1681, SC1682 and SC1684, offers support for both 6-volt and 12-volt systems with charging rates ranging from 1 amp to 10 amps.

    Product Development

Designed to serve diverse automotive aftermarket needs, these chargers are equipped with a low-profile clamp design and patent-pending Schumacher Flex Eyelet Technology. The clamps convert into ring leads by removing a single screw, facilitating easier access to hard-to-reach terminals. This design aims to improve efficiency in battery maintenance tasks, the company said.

    Market Impact

“The RUGGED BY SCHUMACHER battery chargers and maintainers reflect our commitment to innovation and real-world functionality,” said Mickey Leech, CEO of Schumacher. “We designed these chargers to meet the needs of professionals and everyday users who demand performance, safety and convenience.”

What sets the battery chargers apart is their low-profile clamp design and patent-pending clamp assembly with Schumacher Flex Eyelet™ Technology.

The clamps easily convert into ring leads by removing a single screw. This offers a low-profile solution for hard-to-reach terminals, Schumacher Electric Corp. said.

    Key Features

The chargers feature override mode, multi-stage charging, automatic maintenance, and reverse hook-up protection to extend battery life. Each also includes a repair mode to revive damaged batteries and a service mode to maintain stable voltage during maintenance.

Compatibility with multiple battery types, including lithium, broadens the application potential across various automotive segments. A three-year warranty accompanies each unit.
