Shoei’s Neotec 3 Motorcycle Helmet Gets New Colors and Graphics, But Only in Europe

Shoei's Neotec 3 Motorcycle Helmet Gets New Colors and Graphics, But Only in Europe

The Shoei Neotec 3 is already one of the most popular modular helmets in the touring world—comfortable, safe, and versatile. But here’s the thing: in Europe, they’re getting even more options. New graphics, new colors, fresh designs to add to an already well-rounded lineup. And here in the States? Nothing. At least, not yet.

Which, honestly, just makes me want them more.

When Shoei dropped the Neotec 3 in late 2023, it built on everything the Neotec II did well: better aerodynamics, a slightly refined shell, a comfier fit, and an easier communication system integration. It’s a solid helmet for anyone who racks up miles and doesn’t want to fuss with swapping between full-face protection and the freedom of an open chin bar. And now, over in Europe, you can snag one in styles that go way beyond the safe-but-boring solids most of us settled for when this lid first landed.

    Now, about what’s actually new.

Shoei’s rolled out a handful of fresh looks, including the Anthem and Fragments series. Anthem has this sharp, slightly aggressive edge—perfect if you like your gear to look as fast as your bike, even if you’re only rolling out for coffee on a Sunday morning.

The Fragments TC-2, though, is my personal favorite. It has this geometric, almost “razzle dazzle” effect—the camouflage patterns used on WWI ships, all jagged lines and broken shapes. The palette—blue, silver, grey, and white—manages to be calming without being dull. Best of all, it plays well with whatever you’re wearing: black leathers, brown boots, white textile gear, and even brighter combos. It’s flexible in a way a lot of helmets just… aren’t, because brands often think we all want to look like neon Power Rangers.

Here’s the catch, though: these new colors are only available in Europe right now. No word from Shoei on when they’ll hit U.S. shelves. If history is anything to go by—like with the Neotec II—it’s probably just a matter of time. But for now, we’re stuck refreshing Shoei’s American site, watching European riders show off their new lids online, and maybe (just maybe) trying to track one down through less “official” means. Not that I’m endorsing the black market [winky face].

Of course, if understated is your thing and you live in America, then you are in luck. The Matte Deep Gray, other solids, plus the Grasp and Satori series still round out the collection, giving us respectable options that don’t scream for attention. Most importantly, these selections are available on our side of the Atlantic.

The way I see it, helmets don’t get overhauled every year the way bikes do. Updates like this—new colors, new graphics—are how brands keep things interesting. The Neotec 3 is already one of the most comfortable, reliable modulars you can buy. Giving it a fresh coat of paint just makes it that much more tempting, especially if you’ve been holding off on replacing your old lid.

So yeah, if you’re in Europe—lucky you. If you’re in the U.S., for now it’s a waiting game.
