    Snap-on Introduces Triton Scan Tool

Snap-on recently introduced its new Triton scan tool. According to Snap-on, Triton features wireless technology for a reliable connection in the bay, Fast-Track Component Tests and code-based troubleshooting.

“The continuously evolving automotive world has created what is now the most challenging environment that diagnostic professionals have ever seen,” said Helen Cox, marketing and client services director at Snap-on Diagnostics. “The new Triton scan tool is at the technician’s side for every vehicle that they see in the bay and takes the lead on every repair so there is no more wondering where to start. Triton ensures that technicians have what they need to get through the job at hand, from the everyday repair to the unusual.”

The Triton diagnostic platform features Snap-on’s Fast-Track troubleshooting functionality to show how other technicians have tackled the same problems in the bay. Verified Real Fixes are harvested from billions of successful repair records. The company’s “Smart Data” automatically selects only the PIDs related to the code that the technician is working on and flags which ones are out of range at idle, Snap-on says. Instead of hundreds of possible readings, only the ones that matter are shown.

Pre-filtered functional tests and technical service bulletins (TSBs) help confirm that the technician is on the right path to repair. Triton also features a two-channel scope with Fast-Track Guided Component Tests, providing the information needed to test components. It shows step by step where to hook up, how to hook up, known good waveforms and more, Snap-on says.

Triton also has a 10-in. capacitive color touchscreen display, one-touch code scan and clear, and an integrated two-channel lab scope.
