To begin with, you’re not having déjà vu if you think you’ve already seen this recall. Back in June 2025, there was a very similar recall from Kawasaki Motors Corporation USA, specifically relating to 2024 and 2025 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6Rs. I’m also here to tell you that if you are the owner of a bike affected by that earlier recall, unfortunately that doesn’t let you off the hook. Your bike is affected by the recall I’m about to tell you about here, too.
Ready? On November 18, 2025, Kawasaki USA issued a stop sale and stop delivery notice to its entire dealership network regarding a host of 2024 through 2026 model year Ninja ZX-6R variants. I’ll stick all of them in a table to keep things a little simpler here.

According to Kawasaki’s records, approximately 20,301 motorcycles may potentially be affected by this recall in the US market. This represents around 1 percent of the population.
The issue, as with the earlier recall issued for some 2024 and 2025 Ninja ZX-6Rs, involves potential seizure of the #5 metal crankshaft bushing inside the engine. This could unexpectedly cause the engine to stall, which could increase a rider’s risk of injury, or a crash.
Now, here’s the kicker. For this particular recall, Kawasaki’s official safety recall report as filed with the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reads as its description of the cause for this recall that, “The axial force of the bolts holding the crank case together can be excessive due to variations in the tightening of these bolts during the repair process for the prior recall. As a result, the #5 metal crankshaft bushing can be damaged by improper oil clearance between the crankshaft and the bushing.”
As a result, Kawasaki is advising all owners of these bikes to immediately stop riding their affected 2024 through 2026 Ninja ZX-6Rs, until the repair can be completed. At this time, Kawasaki says that a remedy is “under development,” and that it does not yet have a notification or repair schedule.
According to the Stop Sale notice that Kawasaki issued to its US dealership network, Kawasaki fully intends to announce the repairs once parts become available, which should happen in early December 2025.
