At the 2025 Japan Mobility Show, Toyota’s Chief Officer of Public and External Affairs Hiroyuki Ueda told media that the company did not promise to invest US$10bn in the US. This refutes claims by US President Donald Trump, who, during a recent state visit to Japan, commented that Toyota would fund the construction of new auto plants throughout his country.
