Toyota introduces two battery options of 57.7kWh and 73.1kWh with maximum output of 252kW in AWD configuration
Toyota has launched an updated bZ4X electric SUV featuring a comprehensive powertrain revision with two new lithium-ion battery options of 57.7 kilowatt hours (kWh) or 73.1kWh gross capacity, delivering up to 569km of range under the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) and maximum system output of 252kW (343 horsepower) in all-wheel drive (AWD) configuration. The automaker has introduced new eAxles with integrated electric motor, transaxle and inverter featuring silicon carbide semiconductors for improved efficiency, alongside suspension tuning for enhanced ride comfort and dynamic performance, with European sales beginning in December 2025.
The 57.7kWh battery is exclusive to the Mid-grade front-wheel drive model, while the 73.1kWh unit is available in both front and AWD versions. Direct current (DC) fast charging from 10 to 80 per cent takes 28 minutes with a new battery pre-conditioning function, while a 22 kilowatt (kW) alternating current (AC) on-board charger is standard on High-grade models.
The AWD model gains 1,500kg towing capacity. Maximum driving range is achieved by the front-wheel drive model with the 73.1kWh battery and 18-inch wheels at 569km. The new batteries, supplied by Prime Planet Energy & Solutions, contain 26 cells per module compared to the previous configuration.
Toyota has introduced a new horizontal dashboard with a 14-inch multimedia screen and digital island centre console. The model range is simplified to two equipment grades, Mid and High, with the updated bZ4X rolling out across European markets through February 2026.
