It means that customers will now be able to purchase the Grande Panda either as a hybrid or electric car in three trims: Pop, Icon, and La Prima. The new Pop trim keeps a number of features from the (RED) trim, e.g. its 16″ white steel wheels and some lighting elements. Inside, there’s two-tone blue/back seats, a 10.25″ touchscreen radio, rear parking sensors, heated door mirrors, an electric parking brake and more.

What it also means is that there is now a cheaper entry level Grande Panda in the UK. When Fiat opened its order books for the car back in September, the entry price point was £21,035; now, the ‘Pop’ trim starts at £20,995. It’s not a huge price variant, but it’s something. Additionally, all three trims qualify for the FIAT E-Grant, which offers discounts of £1500 from the on-the-road prices of FIAT’s battery-electric models. However, the new electric model is yet to qualify for the UK government’s Electric Car Grant.

The Grande Panda is still available as both a BEV and a mild hybrid, with the hybrid running on a 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine with a 21 kW electric motor. The electric Grande Panda, meanwhile, runs on a 44 kWh battery and an electric drive that delivers 83kW for a range of up to 199 miles. It can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 11 seconds. The electric Grande Panda can be charged with up to 100 kW on a DC fast charging station.

The Grande Panda was first presented in July 2024, and is 3.99 metres long, 1.57 metres high and 1.76 metres wide. There is space for up to five passengers, and the boot has a capacity of 361 litres. The small car is technically based on the CMP Smart Car platform.
