Through this procurement, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Belgium is set to achieve its fleet emission targets ahead of schedule. In 2021, the Belgian branch committed to reducing its vehicle fleet emissions by 20 per cent every two years, aiming for a fully emission-free fleet by 2030. Now, the target has been brought forward, with all company cars expected to be zero-emission by 2028. In this latest procurement round, 499 diesel and hybrid vehicles will be replaced with fully electric models, the company announced.

As a result, PwC Belgium’s fleet now consists of 90 per cent electrified vehicles, including 40 per cent that are fully electric. “Electrifying our fleet is an important step in reducing our emissions, and we are committed to making this transition as transparent as possible for our employees,” said Patrick Boone, CEO of PwC Belgium.

The company is also expanding its charging infrastructure: “Home charging remains a challenge, especially for younger colleagues. That’s why we are installing 270 new charging points at the office, removing a major barrier to electric driving and ensuring safe, sustainable, and convenient commutes,” Boone added. With this latest expansion, the total number of charging points across all PwC locations in Belgium will rise to 475.

The company’s transition to electric mobility is further strengthened by its ongoing partnership with BMW Group Belux. Just over a year ago, PwC Belgium procured 200 new MINI Cooper E vehicles for new employees. For BMW, PwC is one of its largest commercial customers: “This partnership enables us to offer ongoing, personalised support and a comprehensive range of services, from flexible financing options to reliable roadside assistance and dedicated after-sales service,” commented Alexander Wehr, CEO of BMW Group Belux.

Beyond company cars, PwC Belgium employees have had access to a statutory mobility budget since 2023, offering options such as bicycle leasing, public transport subsidies, and mortgage cost reimbursement. “Approximately 23% of PwC Belgium’s employees opt to drive a smaller car while 12% of staff choose to fully waive the company car, reflecting a growing preference for sustainable mobility choices,” the company noted.
