It’s been over a year since Alfa Romeo bid farewell to its Quadrifoglio models by launching the Super Sport special edition as a last hurrah. However, in true Stellantis fashion, it later reversed course and decided to bring back the V-6 engine. The move comes from having to extend the life cycle of the first-generation Giulia and Stelvio, as their replacements will take longer than originally planned.
Why? The initial idea was to sell their successors strictly as EVs, but the cars are now being re-engineered to accommodate combustion engines. Alfa Romeo is reverting to an ICE setup for the next-gen Giulia and Stelvio after coming to grips with the probable reality that electric-only models wouldn’t sell all that well. The EVs are still coming, but they’ll be joined by combustion-engine counterparts.
In the meantime, the Italians are following up on last month’s promise to revive the Quads. Alfa Romeo is reinstating all six cylinders for the range-topping Giulia and Stelvio. The new “Collezione” series is limited to 63 units per body style, nodding to 1963, the year the brand launched its first production car with the iconic four-leaf clover.
The twin-turbo, 2.9-liter V-6 engine with Ferrari DNA returns unchanged, delivering the same 513 horsepower and 442 pound-feet (600 Newton-meters) of torque. Alfa Romeo sweetens the pot with a standard Akrapovič exhaust system for a more aggressive soundtrack. Additionally, carbon-ceramic brakes are also included from the get-go.

Since the Giulia is already a 10-year-old model and the Stelvio will reach that milestone soon, Alfa Romeo is trying to keep things visually fresh. Both receive an exposed carbon fiber roof, a lightweight touch that extends to the side mirror caps and even the front badge.
If that’s still not enough, the duo comes painted in a special shade of red used on the ultra-exclusive 33 Stradale supercar. Originating from the 4C Concept’s finish, the deep-red hue appears darker on the Giulia and lighter on the Stelvio.
Inside, Alfa Romeo wraps the dashboard in leather with red stitching and adds carbon fiber to the central tunnel. The Sparco seats combine leather and Alcantara, featuring individually numbered headrests and carbon fiber shells. Additional leather appears on the door armrests and between the seats.

Although the Collezione is billed as a global limited edition, it’s only headed to Europe, Japan, China, and the Middle East.
If you prefer to wait for the next-generation Giulia and Stelvio, they won’t arrive until 2028 at the earliest. Alfa Romeo has already hinted at offering another batch of gasoline-fueled Quadrifoglio versions. As you can imagine, the company, like so many other automakers in recent years, has abandoned its plan to go fully electric.
