Workers at Volkswagen’s Chattanooga plant in Tennessee have voted to authorise strike action following more than a year of unfruitful contract negotiations. The vote gives the United Auto Workers (UAW) the right to call a strike if deemed necessary, although no strike date has yet been set and the UAW bargaining committee is currently requesting more negotiations with Volkswagen management.
